5 Mavericks national team callups

Bulawayo Basketball Association officiated clubs were drafted into the national team on the back of their perfomances at the national club championships.

The six women drawn from B.B.A Clubs,Southern Mavericks and Lakers were piched alongside the appointment of Herbert Bhebhe of Mavericks who will be the manager of the national men's side.Maverick's coach Mxolisi Mdlovu also joined Bhebhe and the six players for national duties after being appointed women's national team manager.

The six players are

Andile Chirinda (Mavericks)

Tafadzwa Gangara(Mavericks)

Maria Mutengo(Mavericks)

Roselyn Maidei(Mavericks)

Brandina Muleya(Mavericks)

Geraldine Chibonda(Lakers)

Meanwhile Bulawayo Clubs put up a good show at the recently held National Championships where it sent five clubs namely Lakers(women),Southern Mavericks(men),Southern Mavericks(women),Highlanders(women) and Giants (men).

"The teams put up a good showing,with Lakers women going all the way to the final where they lost to Harare City Hornets .Mavericks both men and women both crushed out in the quarter finals ,"Francis Dube the B.B.A Marketing officer told B.B.A T.V in an exclusive interview .

Other Bulawayo teams,Giants (men) and Highlanders (women) could not go past the group stages-Next Level Sports TV
