AM CREATING A PLAYER BASE:JOEY ANTIPAS
CaptainRT
Joey Antipas has given the clearest indication to date that there maybe more than what meets the eye at the Zimbabwe national soccer team.In an interview today after his side made light work of Ngezi at Luveve stadium,Joey was emphatic in his refusal to shed light on the 'regulars' that he omitted in his squad that will face Somalia.
"One thing i do not want to do is comment on the players that are missing"Mafero flatly declared
Antipas went on to say that he believed that the players he chose would do the bussines."I think the team is young and balanced, the main thing was to create a player base for the substantive warriors coach who will come after me" he stated.
He further mentioned that he would like to call in more players from the British Brigade."We still have got a lot of players that are not regularised like Bonne,Galloway,Benyu and David Moyo, those guys are playing in the England national championship and in Scotland,if we call in those guys the team will improve in terms of quality" he said.
Joey Antipas called up a squad that has divided opinion which includes McClive Phiri of Highlanders who is coming from injury,Phineas Bhamusi of Caps utd and Elvis Chipezeze.
The squad is missing players like Knowledge Musona,George Chigova,Ovidy Karuru and a host of other senior players who journeyed to the land of the pharaohs in the not so distant past.
Fortune favours the brave.
