Amateur boxer, Everson Musambidzi has disclosed that he is inspired by renowned Zimbabwean Heavyweight boxer Elvis Moyo, his brother in law.

The 27 year old fell in love with the sport five years ago and he said he is still working on becoming a professional boxer. The Nketa Boxing Club affiliated prize fighter has achieved countless boxing certificates in his career and he holds three gold medals and two silver medals which he won during the Zimbabwe Youth Games.

'I used to see my brother in law going to the gym and sometimes I would help him carry his lagguage, then one day he encouraged me to start training,' said Musambidzi

Musambidzi started training at Sizinda Hall in 2014 and then he quickly turned amateur. Since then, he has never looked back, Musambidzi also revealed that South African based Heavyweight boxer Elvis 'Bomber' Moyo was his first trainer.

'I then moved to Nkulumane where I was coached by Mandla Phuti before joining the Nketa Boxing club coached by national instructor Steven Masiyambumbi.' Musambidzi said.
