EARLY KICK OFF FOR LOWER DIVISION LEAGUES

The five leagues that fall under the Zifa Bulawayo Province will see their season kick off earlier than in the previous years. This was said by the provincial chairman, former wrestler Allan “The Ripper “Mpofu without elaborating on the reasons for this move. He however said the true picture of how things will pun out will start showing after his executive’s meeting next week and there after an annual general meeting for affiliates will be called. “This season will kick off early ; we are waiting for clubs to pay their affiliation fees as soon as they can so that we can make sure everything is in place for the season to start” Mpofu disclosed that his office has communicated this to clubs and the issue of affiliation fees which have been raised in line with the rate of inflation. “Junior league is pegged at two thousand dollars, Division three is eleven thousand and two hundred and fifty and Division two are twelve thousand, seven hundred and fifty," Mpofu told our reporter. Meanwhile the Zifa Bulawayo chairman also revealed that a number of tournaments have been included on this season’s calendar. “We have lined up a number of Cups that include the under 17 tournament that is bankrolled by one of our board members and the under 17 Cup that is sponsored by Dulys motors"
