The Zifa Central Region Division One League entered match day 13 this past weekend as the battles of the top, middle table and bottom of the table intensified.

Table toppers Sheasham FC were too good for the FC Platinum Under 19 side scoring two goals while keeping a clean sheet. The Gweru outfit continued with its fine of form to keep their title hopes and promotion to the elite league alive. It was Sheasham's ninth victory of the season in a a campaign in which they have two draws and the same number of defeats.

Former Premier Soccer League outfit Shabanie Mine who are currently on position nine in the league played to a goalless stalemate against Blanket Mine. 'The Chinda Boys' as Shabanie are affectionately known by their fans currently lie on the ninth spot, having registered four wins, five draws and four losses. They have amassed 17 points, 12 adrift of log leaders Sheasham.

Former PSL side Whawha are also looking to bounce back to the top flight, they sit on the third spot. The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service bankrolled team overpowered Black Eagles 3-0 to put more pressure at the top of the table. The Mkhulisi 'Coolio' Tshuma coached side have seven wins so far, a total of four stalemates and they have suffered two defeats.

Second placed Vumbachikwe narrowly claimed victory over Dendairy with a 1-0 win. They are just three points behind the table toppers having eight wins, two stalemates and three losses.

Matabeleland South outfit, Filabusi United's winless run stretched to 13 after a 0-0 draw against ZPC Munyati. United have eight draws and five losses so far an unenviable feat that sees them deep in the relegation zone on position 17 they are just one point ahead of bottom of the log side Kwekwe United who suffered a 1-0 loss to MSU FC.
