Gems Join Telkom Netball League

The Zimbabwe National Netball squad who make their debut at this year's World Cup in Liverpool have been drafted in the South African domestic structures. The Gems as they are affectionately known by their supporters will fulfil two fixtures in the Telkom League before heading to the World Cup in England. The two matches are against President's Smileys and the President's Stars. "We are travelling to South Africa on the 16th of May to participate in two matches which should sharpen our team". Leticia Chipandu the Zimbabwe Netball Association President said.

The trip to South Africa come hot on the heels of a three match series to Uganda in which the Gems lost all their matches.
