Girls High, Prince Edward clinch Top Schools tourney

Girls High School Harare claimed gold in this year's edition of the Top Schools Basketball tournament which was held at Mosi-oa-Tunya High School, Victoria Falls this past weekend.

Girls High beat Kriste Mambo High School 30-8 in the finals to clinch top spot. Kwekwe High claimed bronze after overpowering Nhowe High School by 11-5 in the third and fourth place playoffs. Tadiwa Mabika was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament for her outstanding performance that led to her team's victory.

Meanwhile in the boys category, Prince Edward High from Harare beat Matabeleland South's Cyrene Boys High 49-29 in the finals to clinch top spot with the champion's Tendai Padera being the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Cyrene settled for silver while third place went to Bulawayo's Christian Brothers College after defeating Mazowe based Howard High 28-19.
