Chicken Inn coach, Joey Antipas has revealed that the club's on form striker, Clive Augusto has drew some attention from clubs in the neighboring South Africa and that he will allow the player to make a move out of the club if need be.
In an interview with our reporter after the Gamecocks' awards ceremony held at one of the club's sponsors fast foods outlets in Bulawayo yesterday, Antipas admitted that the player is of top quality and that it is possible for him to leave the club soon.
'The clubs in South Africa are really on his case, one thing I will never do is to try and block a player from progressing and moving to a bigger league. Clive deserves it, if he has to go then all the best to him, I give him my blessings and we just have to look for another Clive Augusto,' Antipas said.
The former Ngezi Platinum striker has scored 13 goals in 13 matches so far, with the latest being a brace against newly promoted Mushowani Stars at Luveve stadium in the weekend.
Augusto joined the 2015 champions from last year's league runners up Ngezi Platinum in the beginning of the season. He was voted player's player of the year in every month since joining the Bulawayo based club. He was also voted the Black Sharp Player of the Month for April and May, all in all, the striker walked away with $5800 courtesy of the club's sponsors.
The coach also praised most recent signing Liberty Chakoroma whom he labeled as a great asset to the Gamecocks.
'Liberty is another quality player, we need a player like him to come and stabilise us in defence although I would say our defence has been doing great. It's good to have a player like him fighting for position in our team and he comes with experience and he will definitely be an asset to us,' added the former Motor Action coach.
Chicken Inn is currently second on the log standings having won eight times, drawing twice and being defeated three times. They have 26 points, one adrift of table toppers and defending champions FC Platinum.
