Madagascar captain Fenava Ima is a man who has made a lot of sacrifices for his national team.

In an interview recently, Ima recounts some of the difficulties he has gone through with his Malagasy national team colleagues, to reach where they are.

In some part of the long interview he narrates that five years ago they were forced to rent a hangar in Paris for their training camp as part of preparations for a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Senegal.

'We wanted to have the minimum, a decent little hotel and great food. I remember the time when we slept in a hangar with bunk beds and we made a 2-2 draw against Senegal. We did not have training jerseys, which is not serious, but the day of the match, we were different,' Ima says as translated from French.

'After that great result, I called the Federation official and told them we cannot play with different jerseys or shots, socks with holes! They ignored us. I had the idea to sell jerseys to raise funds. I found a store in Austria that makes them for 29 Euros per piece. I sold 1000 of them in France for 40 Eurosso we made more than 10 000 and thank God I could buy tracksuit, socks, jerseys and backpacks.
