Former Matabeleland Tuskers player Mbekezeli Mabuza has heaped praises on the Zimbabwe Cricket test national side for their gallant performances in the loss to Sri-Lanka in the just ended match.
The 35 year old who played for Tuskers from 2004 to 2017 said there are a lot of positives that can be drawn from the first test which Zimbabwe lost by ten wickets.
“I think we acquitted ourselves well considering that we had not played a lot of Test Cricket leading up to game, yes we might be disappointed with the result, but lot of positives should be noted here.”
He added, “We managed to go a session without losing a wicket with an inexperienced opening partnership.”
“Our debutants did well and special mention to Victor Nyauchi who I thought bowled his heart out on a wicket that did offer much for the bowlers.” added Ncube.
Zimbabwe faces the same opponents again in the second test starting Monday.
