The Warriors of Zimbabwe will go into their second match of the Africa Cup of Nations in a group A match against the Cranes of Uganda tomorrow at 19:00 Central African Time at Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.
Soccer analyst, Esau Manyame, believes Warriors have an advantage going to the match knowing that a loss will shatter their hopes of qualifying to the knockout stages since their inaugural feature in Tunisia, 2004.
'The Warriors go into the match with history favouring them. Statistics show that the two teams have met 14 times since 1981 in CECAFA Cups and International friendlies with the warriors winning five times and draining seven occassions,' said Manyame.
Zimbabwe lost their first match against tournament hosts Egypt courtesy of a solitary goal from Mahmoud 'Trezeguert' Hassan while Uganda beat DRC 2-0 to move to the summit of group A thanks to a superior goal difference over the Pharaohs.
'With a well marshaled defence of reliable duo of Tendai Darikwa and Devine Lunga on the wings and Marvelous Nakamba expected to engineer most of the moves from the midfield the Warriors have their work cut out. Meanwhile captain Knowledge Musona is expected to make up for his mistake during a match against Egypt,' Manyame added.
Left back Divine Lunga made headlines after the Egypt game for marking out Liverpool dangerman Mohamed Salah.
'However, Uganda has got good players with their goalkeeper (Dennis Onyango) being one of their reliable players as well as Emmanuel Okwi,' he said.
According to Manyame, the Warriors with their galaxy of stars are tipped to win the match by a 3-1 margin with Musona and Billiat on the score sheet.
After the Uganda game, the Warriors will have to focus on their next game against the Leopards of DRC.
