Mpopoma High School under 15 girls have clinched the Copa Cocacola tournament for the third year running after beating Magwegwe 3-1 at Gifford High School on Thursday.
National Association of Secondary Heads Bulawayo Provincial Head in charge of soccer, John Nzima has given the thumbs ups to the girld child's progress in football.
'The standard of play is improving if you compare how the girls are performing and which is good because we expect the boys to do better tomorrow. One can not doubt that these girls are very young yet they are doing very well,' Nzima said.
The national level of the tourney will be played in Kadoma from the 11th to the 13th of July when boys will be hosted by Jameson High School and girld by Rimuka High. Only one team from both catergories will represent the Province.
'On my own perspective, the economic situation is so difficult hence there are no banners for advertising by our sponsors unlike in previous tournaments. However we have to accept the situation on the ground,' Nzima added.
Meanwhile Mpopoma High School under 15 girls beat Magwegwe High School 3-1 to qualify for the national championships for the third year running.
