Former Highlanders and Amazulu Football club central defender, Sikhumbuzo 'Mzee' Ndebele has encouraged Highlanders players to protect the Bosso brand with pride in order to move the team to the next level.

Mzee spent four years with Highlanders from 1992 to 1996 before joining Amazulu in 1997 to 2000. Before that he played for Highlanders under 14 and 16 juniors, Eagles under 12 side as well as the Magwegwe Hotspurs under 10's team.

'Highlanders is blessed to have talent in their current squad, like any other valuable asset, the boys need to protect Bosso jealously like the Coca-Cola recipe,; Ndebele told Bosso TV.

'They need to understand the inherent need for renewal to stay on top of the game. Self development programs, solidarity and commitment to individual training is also necessary, always be positioned to deliver,' he added.

During his stint with Bosso, Ndebele played alongside Benjamin Khonjera, Methembe 'Mayor' Ndlovu, Thulani 'Biya' Ncube, the late Melusi 'Phakathi' Nkiwane among others.

He said he is most humbled to have played in the field with some of the best players at Highlanders and the now defunct Amazulu.

Ndebele is currently studying a Masters Degree in International Sports Legal Studies and Management with the European Football Association.
