Raptors maintain unbeaten run

Fazak Power Raptors have made it four wins in four games after they defeated Pepsi Hawks and defending champions Mermaid Pool Blazers this past Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Fazak Power Raptors captain, Flemming Nkomo said as much as his team is on the summit of the log standings, his team must remain very careful and be attentive in every match they play.

‘It is a good feeling being at the top of the table but we have to stay focused as a team and stop being over confident. It is all because of the way we play and supporting each other as a team,’ the captain said.

In their match on Saturday, Raptors played second placed Pepsi Hawks who batted first and scored 89 runs for 9 wickets while Raptors scored 94 runs for 3 wickets and the Fazak Power Raptors won by six wickets. On Sunday, the log leaders played defending champions Mermaid Pool Blazers. The Blazers batted first and scored a massive 116 run all out while Raptors hit 122 runs for 4 wickets, they won the match by seven wickets.

Nkomo also said that the reason why his team is progressing is also because of competition within his teammates.

‘The competition among teammates is tight, everyone is hunting that man of the match status so it is very tense. Hopefully we will go the whole tournament without a loss but if one (loss) comes our way, we will deal with it accordingly,’ Nkomo added.

Nkomo also said that Fazak Power Raptors are eyeing for championship in this year's segment of the tournament.

‘What I can say is that we are definitely going for the big one but we will see what happens as the tournament progresses. We will take it one game at a time,’ he said.
