Wellingbourough Whitworth Football Club and former Ajax Capetown left back Milton Ncube has revealed plans to host his testimonial match at Barbourfields Stadium as a way of expressing his gratitude to the Highlanders family and the Bulawayo Community.
“I miss Barbourfields Stadium as it holds a special place in my heart .The Stadium remembers me of the Highlanders twenty-three match unbeaten streak in 2012.”
Ncube who started his career with Shooting Stars Football Club before moving to Motor Action in 2012, told Next Level Sports T.V from his United Kingdom base that he has never regretted playing for Highlanders as it is the institution that taught him unity and adaption of never die spirit.
“When we were playing for Highlanders we were taught Ubuntu and to value others. Unity was the motto of our daily sessions .When people are pulling in one direction everything falls into place”
He also added that his former team mates still hold a special place in his heart and he is thankful to the almighty for allowing him to play with them.
“I cherished the days I shared with Kudakwashe Mahachi, Peter Rio Moyo, Ariel Sibanda and Bruce Kangwa .The chemistry between us was too much .One would think that we played a number of seasons together .It was just a perfect match.”
Ncube left Zimbabwe last year in July to join his family in the United Kingdom and he later signed for Wellingborough Whitworth Football Club.
