Team Zimbabwe shines in Zambia

The Zimbabwe tennis team went to Zambia where they played in a tri match tournament which included the hosts Zambia, Malawi as well as Zimbabwe on Thursday last week. The team used this tournament as a warm up of the upcoming all Africa games to be held in Morocco in August.

The matches were an eye opener for the Zimbabwean sides who in singles managed to beat Malawi 3-1 before playing second best to Zambia, suffering a 3-0 loss.

'That tournament in Zambia gave us match practice ahead of the All Africa games which are to be held in Morocco in August. All the matches were very competitive,' said Luba Ndlovu, Vice President of the Zimbabwe Table Tennis Association.

A fortnight ago, team Zimbabwe's men and women catergories played Team China where men lost 5-6 whereas women held the Chinese side to a 1-1 stalemate.
