Manica Diamonds will now finally play their home games closer to home after Vengere Stadium in Rusape was finally approved by the ZIFA First Instance Board (F.I.B). Manica have been travelling more than three hundred kilometres to Triangle's Gibbo Stadium because their choice for home, Sakubva in Mutare failed F.I.B tests.
According to a ZIFA statement posted this week which said,"The re-inspection of Vengere Stadium, by the first Instance Body has resolved to provisionally homologate the stadium to host P.S.L matches". Read part of the statement. Vengere was one of the stadiums that were suspended early this year together with Ascot in Gweru, Trojan in Bindura and Sakubva in Mutare.
However Manica Diamonds will not use Vengere this weekend due to inconveniences which could delay the delivery of the necessary sponsor branding to be put in place in the stadium before the match. Vengere Stadium is located in Rusape town, 90 kilometres from Mutare where the Diamond miners are head quartered.
