Zambia are at risk of getting banned from all football competitions if the government continues to interfere in football matters.
F.I.FA warned the association last week after a complaint from the Football Association of Zambia about the Sports minister Emmanuel Mulenga’s interference in running of football in the country.
Minister Mulenga is reportedly attempting to change the constitution of F.A.Z so as to dissolve the Ethics Committee ahead of the elective Annual General Meeting set for March 2020.
The football governing body F.I.F.A in a letter told the Football Association of Zambia that it requires a list of names of the Electoral committee and of the Electoral Appeals Committee as ratified by the F.A.Z council.
F.I.F.A urged Football Association of Zambia to carry out its electoral process independency and in full compliance with the F.A.Z statutes and Electoral code. It also encouraged the association to inform world governing board immediately about any undue influence in the Electoral process.
Zambia are Zimbabwe’s opponents in the 2021 Afcon Qualifiers together with Botswana and Algeria.
