Zambia will no longer host this year's edition of the Confederation of School Sports Association Southern Africa (COSSASA) games due to changes made by the neighbouring country's newly appoonted Ministry of Sports.

Next Level Sports is in possession of a letter by COSSASA confirming the development.

Part of the letter reads.

'May I bring to your attention that Zambia will no longer host the 2019 ball games. This was confirmed by the Zambian Government through the office of the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education. This gave the greenlight for Zambia to host through ZASSA (Zambia Schools Sports Association) in 2019 ball games,'

'Unfortunately for ZASSA Aa cabinet reshuffle took place and the new Director of Sport in the Ministry of Sport who assumed office changed all previous commitments. This was a direct result of new austerity measures introduced by the Government to instill new financial costs cutting measures, starting with top management.' The letter read.

The games were meant to commence from the 27th to the 31st of this month in the country's capital Lusaka.
